As a Payroll Specialist at Landal, you are responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and error-free payroll administration for both our Dutch and international employees. You make sure that all payroll processes are correct, from personnel changes and contract amendments to pension contributions and salary payments.
You will be working in an organisation that is constantly evolving: from a largely in-house payroll administration towards a more optimised and partially outsourced model. You are the person who brings stability, maintains control, and actively contributes ideas on how processes can be made smarter and more efficient.
Wat je gaat doen
In this role, you are an important part of our payroll administration team and work closely with HR, Finance, and external parties such as the occupational health service and the Employee Insurance Agency (UWV). You also support internal managers with complex questions regarding personnel and payroll administration. In addition, you are responsible for:
- Processing the full payroll administration for Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark Germany, United Kingdom & Austrian employees.
- Verifying, updating, and processing all employee and payroll data in the HR and payroll system (AFAS) & Strada in the future.
- Executing salary payments and ensuring accuracy and completeness of payroll runs.
- Submitting wage tax returns to the Dutch Tax Authorities.
- Managing complex pension administration and coordination with pension funds.
- Handling all HR and payroll-related correspondence via phone, email, and post.
- Processing contracts, employee changes, reimbursements, and other lifecycle-related adjustments.
- Managing and optimising the time registration system and ensuring correct input for payroll processing.
- Actively contributing to the optimisation and further professionalisation of payroll processes, including the transition towards (partial) outsourcing.
- Staying up to date with relevant laws and regulations and translating changes into daily practice.
- Participating in payroll and HR projects together with colleagues from HR and Finance.
- Analysing payroll data and reporting on performance, key developments, and anomalies within the organisation. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Your base location is our office in Amsterdam. Of course, working from home is possible. In a permanent role, we would like to see you in the office three times per week.
Wie je bent
You are an experienced payroll professional used to working in a complex and international environment. You maintain oversight, work with high accuracy, and are able to prioritise effectively even under pressure. You are service-oriented, analytically strong, and take ownership of ensuring flawless payroll execution. In addition, you bring:
- HBO working and thinking level, or a completed degree with 1–4 years of relevant work experience.
- Preferably 5+ years of payroll experience, including both Dutch and international payroll administration.
- Proven experience with AFAS. Experience in working with outsource model via Strada is also a preference.
- Experience in Workday is a preference.
- Knowledge of payroll processes, personnel administration, and relevant legislation.
- Experience with international payroll processes is a strong advantage.
- Experience handling employee lifecycle processes, including contracts and personnel changes.
- Experience with pension administration and wage tax processes.
- Experience working in a changing environment moving towards (partial) payroll outsourcing.
- Ability to perform under pressure and remain effective in a dynamic or sometimes complex environment.
- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English (required).
- Accurate, service-oriented, and analytically strong.
- Proactive and able to contribute ideas for process improvements.

- A one-year contract with a two-month probation period in accordance with the Recreation Collective Labour Agreement (CAO Recreatie), with the intention of offering a permanent contract.
- A gross monthly salary between €4,005 and €4,840 based on full-time employment*, excluding holiday allowance.
- 25 vacation days based on a full-time work week*. If you work 40 hours per week, you will accrue 94 ADV hours.
